Computer engineering · Purdue University
I build at the edge of hardware & intelligence.
I’m Owen Chen—an engineer interested in semiconductor systems, robotics, embedded control, and the measurement tools that make complex hardware understandable.
Characterization, metrology, and reliability.
From a sensor trace to a robot in motion, I like engineering problems where careful measurement meets decisive making.
Experience
Research, hardware, and systems that leave the bench.

Summer Undergraduate Research Fellow
Birck Nanotechnology Center · Purdue University
Building repeatable measurement systems for electronic component analysis, spanning optical spectroscopy, laser profilometry, and Python-based statistical pipelines.
Standardized UV-Vis-NIR and laser-profilometry workflows across 30 ESP32-based development boards from five suppliers, with Python pipelines for supplier-level comparison.

Engineering Intern
Serelix Robotics
Designed a tunable 3D-printed foot interface and a nine-channel pressure-sensing PCB for a post-stroke rehabilitation exoskeleton.
Created a parametric TPU foot interface with region-specific lattice geometry and a nine-channel ADS124S08 pressure-sensing PCB.

UROP Researcher
Taipei Tech × MIT City Science Lab
Built a wheeled-bipedal robot that could dock into a quadruped, then developed its kinematics, control simulations, and power/CAN distribution board.
Implemented inverse kinematics and simulated LQR and MPC strategies in MuJoCo, then designed the two-layer power and CAN-bus distribution PCB.
